Khalil Mack’s retirement video gets the attention of NFL fans online
Video of Khalil “The Beast” Mack’s last football moment with the Detroit Lions has gone viral.
The video has been viewed more than 10 million times and has been shared more than 20,000 times.
The video, posted to Instagram, features Mack in a helmet and jersey as he and the Lions beat the San Francisco 49ers, a game that featured the team’s first two Super Bowl wins.
The moment, which was captured by Mack’s mother, is captured in the video and features his wife, Kayla, sitting with him in the stands, his daughter and daughter-in-law.
In the clip, Mack is seen sitting with Kayla in the end zone.
The two are seated in front of the 49ers’ bench, where Kayla and Mack are seen holding hands and holding up their jerseys.
“My husband was just about to throw it out,” Mack’s son, Alex, said in a video released on Sunday.
“Kayla got on the phone and texted me to tell me to hold on to my helmet.
She got on my shoulder, so I got it in my hands and held on to it and just let her know that I was going to be there and she would be there for me.
She was just a big, big inspiration for me.”
Mack said the moment he found out about his father’s passing was one of the happiest days of his life.
He said he feels a responsibility to honor his father and his legacy by playing his final game with the Lions.
“When you see my dad’s jersey, it means a lot to me,” Mack said.
“He’s a great football player.
I played with him and he was a great teammate, and that jersey just means so much to me.
I wanted to do something for him.”
The video was released during the NFL’s Week 14 on-field event on Sunday and was shared with thousands of fans who were on hand for the game.
“It’s the end of an era.
It’s the last time I’ll be able to do this.
I don’t think I’m going to have the opportunity to do it again,” Mack told reporters.
“It was my last game, so it just wasn’t a good day.
I’m just trying to be strong for my family and family’s legacy.”
